Everyone is at risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes or kidney disease. The good news is that these conditions can often be prevented - even if you have a history of them in your family. Have your free NHS Health Check and you will be better prepared for the future and be able to take steps to maintain or improve your health.
The NHS Health Check is for adults in England between the ages of 40 and 74, and is being introduced over the next five years. It will give you and your GP a clearer picture of your health, and help you take action to reduce your risk of heart disease, stroke, type two diabetes and kidney disease.
If you have not already received your invitation to the check, you will do shortly - NHS Suffolk plans to perform 21,000 checks this year. In the meantime, if you are worried about your health, you should contact your GP in the usual way.
