NHS Suffolk is committed to tackling gender inequalities within the healthcare sector by recognising the specific health needs of men, women and transgender people. There has been increased awareness among healthcare professionals of the link between gender and health and its impact on access, quality of healthcare and medical treatment for men and women. NHS Suffolk wants to ensure there is a patient centred-service that extends choice and is alert to the needs of everyone, especially with regards to gender, to ensure that any gender differences in treatment and access are cut-out.
